Children's Programs MAKE A SPLASH-READ
The Scoville Memorial Summer Reading Program begins on Saturday June 12 and continues through Saturday August 21. Pick up a reading packet at the library and earn prizes all summer long. There will be three separate levels: birth – entering Kindergarten, entering 1st-5th grade, entering 6th-12th grade.
Children's Programs FAMILY STORYTIME – WEDNESDAYS JUNE 2-AUGUST 18 from 10:00-10:45
All ages are welcome to this fun, interactive storytime with lots of music, movement, games, books and a craft.
Children's Programs GROVE STORYTIME – TUESDAYS JUNE 22-AUGUST 17 at NOON
Can't make it to the library for storytime this summer? It's going on the road to the Salisbury Town Grove. Take a break from the sun and join us under the trees next to the snack bar. We'll share stories, songs, and provide a take home craft.
Children's Programs HOUSATONIC STORYTIME – FRIDAYS JUNE 4-AUGUST 20 at 10:30
Join Housatonic Day Care at the library for a fun ‡ hour of stories, games, songs and other activities. Ages 3-5. Please note that program will not be held in inclement weather.

Children's Programs THRILLING THURSDAY: MOVIE NIGHT THURSDAY, JULY 1  6:00 p.m.
Enjoy a showing of the classic Disney animated film The Little Mermaid (rated G) on our big screen TV. Popcorn, drinks and other snacks will be provided by the library. In addition we'll share some interesting facts about the film, as well as alert you to some of the bloopers that crept in during the film's production.
Children's Programs INDEPENDENCE DAY PARTY SATURDAY, JULY 3 10:00 a.m.

Come celebrate Independence Day at the Scoville Memorial Library with a variety of games, activities and crafts that the whole family can enjoy. Try your hand at writing with a quill pen, play some traditional lawn games, make some spectacular crafts and much more. All ages are welcome.
Children's Programs THRILLING THURSDAY: WONDERFUL WORLD OF WATER – THURSDAY JULY 29 at 6:00 p.m.
When science and water combine who knows what will happen? Make ordinary raisins dance, turn on a light bulb with lemonade, make a crystal garden, and create giant bubbles. These are just some of the incredible ways in which science and water combine to provide fun for all ages. Event will be held on library lawn.
Children's Programs THE INCREDIBLE JOURNEY THURSDAY, AUGUST 5 6:00 p.m.
Travel through the water cycle with an interactive game that brings water to life. Each child will follow their own travels through condensation, precipitation and evaporation to see where their travels take them. Then using our watery words and thoughts, generate poems and Mad Libs to share with others. Program includes the story A Drop Around the World by Barbara Shaw McKinney to help get things flowing.
Children's Programs ROCKCATS VISIT SATURDAY AUGUST, 7 1:00 p.m.
Have you ever wondered what it would be like to be in the Minor Leagues? Here's your chance to find out. Rocky, mascot for the New Britain Rock Cats, and an additional staff member will visit the library to share some stories and talk about what life as a minor leaguer is really like.
Children's Programs SUMMER READING CARNIVAL SATURDAY, AUGUST, 21 2:00 p.m.
Celebrate the end of summer with a wild, water carnival. If the summer reading participants read a total of 2000 hours they will have a chance to dunk Erin the Librarian in a Dunk Tank. But that's not all! We will have a variety of other games, crafts, and activities such as a water balloon toss, sand art, watermelon seed spitting contest, and scavenger hunt.
